On Thursday, the anti-fascist person Maja T. went on a hunger strike in Hungary to protest their conditions of detention. Red Help e. V. issued a press statement on the same day.
For one year Maja T. has been in solitary confinement in Hungary. Now T. is on hunger strike – against a judicial system that disenfranchises, isolates and systematically dehumanizes.
Actually, Maja T. should never have been detained in Hungary. Because a decision of the Federal Constitutional Court reached the German authorities too late, there is extradition after all. T. then complains about bad prison conditions - and now no longer wants to eat.
Maja T. is indicted in Hungary for an attack on suspected neo-Nazis. In 2024, the non-binary person was deported from Berlin – despite a ban on extradition imposed by the Constitutional Court.
