PM willing to wear crisis loan flak
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul vowed to take full responsibility should the government's 400-billion-baht loan programme fail to deliver results or cause damage, after the emergency decree authorising the borrowing came into force.
"Sirikanya" reiterated that the opposition parties' submission to the Constitutional Court to interpret the 400 billion baht loan decree will not affect public relief efforts. She affirmed that the government adheres to the principle of not expanding the Constitutional Court's power to the point of becoming a legal war.
The Thai Chamber of Commerce supports the 400 billion baht loan decree, stating it is necessary to support the economy and lay the foundation for the energy sector. (May 9)
