Johns Hopkins University engineers have created robots the size of a pencil tip intended to travel through the body to deliver medicine to infections inside a beating heart.
Miniature "milirobots" controlled by a magnetic field could in the future deliver drugs directly to infected tissue in the beating heart, reducing the need for open-heart surgery and lengthy antibiotic therapy.
