Madonna’s ‘Confessions II’ Reaches No. 1 on Billboard Charts, Her Record-Breaking 10th Time
The album sold 134,000 equivalent units in its first week, giving Madonna her best streaming week ever and best sales week since 2012.
On Sunday, Billboard reported that Madonna's Confessions II debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 134,000 equivalent album units in its first week of release.
The 64-minute release delivered Madonna's best streaming week ever, generating 20.1 million on-demand streams from 19,000 SEA units, while physical and digital sales totaled 114,000 copies.
Madonna joins the Beatles as one of only two artists with 10 No. 1 albums on both American and British charts, making her the first to chart-top in the 2020s after doing so in three prior decades.
Rolling Stone called Confessions II Madonna's 'best album in 20 years,' praising it as a continuous dance-oriented groove rather than a traditional pop collection.
The album surpassed Olivia Rodrigo's record to claim the top spot, while Ken Carson's Xperiment and Sienna Spiro's The Visitor also debuted in the top 10.
