MINOT, N.D. -- The Madison Night Mares had the winningest regular season in Northwoods League Softball history this summer. That achievement goes out the window if they don't win this week.

The Madison Night Mares opened the championship series with a dominant 10-2 win over the Minot Honeybees. Ava Carroll (University of Washington) went 3-for-5 with a double, driving in two runs and scoring twice.
