Madhya Pradesh CM, Scindia lay foundation stone for Adani Group’s defence manufacturing unit

The plant is expected to create about 5,000 direct and indirect jobs and deepen the region's defence supply chain, officials said.

  • On Sunday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia laid the foundation stone for a Rs 2,500 crore Adani Defence Manufacturing Plant in Shivpuri district.
  • The unit, built by Adani Defence and Aerospace, advances Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Atmanirbhar Bharat" and "Make in India" initiatives through specialized missile, propellant, and TNT complexes.
  • With production slated to begin within three years, the facility will generate approximately 5,000 direct and indirect jobs while local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises expand beyond the current 25 vendors.
  • Combined with the existing Small Arms Manufacturing Complex in Gwalior, this facility positions the Gwalior-Chambal region as a major defence hub. Adani Group's Karan Adani and Jeet Adani attended the ceremony.
  • Earlier, Union Minister Scindia inaugurated a 4.5-megawatt solar power plant in Guna on Saturday, built at Rs 20 crore to generate around 75 lakh units of clean electricity annually.
