Maddy Cusack's coach told FA she was 'generally a liar', inquest hears
The inquest also heard allegations that manager Jonathan Morgan made remarks about her weight and relationship, while her family raised workplace concerns.
On Monday, former Sheffield United coach Jonathan Morgan testified at Chesterfield Coroner's Court regarding Maddy Cusack's death, defending his previous description of the footballer as "generally a liar" in an FA inquiry.
Maddy's mother, Deborah Cusack, previously told the inquest her "bright, confident daughter" changed after Morgan arrived, describing him as a "nemesis" who sought to "cut her down to size."
Morgan admitted calling Cusack "bottom heavy" regarding her training and "love sick" about teammate Grace Riglar, though he denied shouting at players or attempting to demean her.
Responding to Dean Armstrong KC, who represents Cusack's family, Morgan stated that "things have not been portrayed factually" and claimed she had "omitted a lot of information" from her family.
The two-week inquest continues at Chesterfield Coroner's Court, where assistant coroner Sophie Cartwright KC examines events leading to Cusack's death on September 20, 2023.
