Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade: Which Stars Are Joining This Year’s Lineup?
The 99th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature 32 balloons, including new characters, 27 floats, and 11 marching bands, with over 31 million viewers last year, officials said.
- On Nov. 27, Macy's parade will begin at 8:30 a.m. with 32 balloons, three ballonicles, 27 floats, 33 clown groups and 11 marching bands in Manhattan, New York City.
- Saturday, volunteers held a test run in New Jersey to prepare the balloons, while organizers planning for next year's 100th anniversary include balloons from previous marches.
- This year, four new featured character balloons will debut, including Buzz Lightyear, Pac-Man, Mario, and a 32-foot-tall onion carriage with eight Shrek characters, plus six new floats.
- The familiar Today hosts will return, with Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker leading NBC and Peacock broadcasts that drew more than 31 million viewers last year, while performers include Ciara, Foreigner, Lil Jon, Kool & the Gang, Busta Rhymes, Mickey Guyton and Teyana Taylor.
- Marching bands from South Carolina, California, Texas, Arizona, New Hampshire, Mississippi, Alabama, Pennsylvania, join Derpy Tiger, Sussie, Broadway cast members, Radio City Rockettes, Ilia Malinin, and Jack Wallace.
