Macron and Merz Forge United Front on Trade, Security and Energy in Berlin

BERLIN, GERMANY, JUL 23 – Macron and Merz met without interpreters to signal renewed goodwill but face ongoing challenges to achieve concrete progress in the French-German partnership, experts say.

The two leaders have reaffirmed Franco-German unity, vowing to tackle challenges ranging from transatlantic trade tensions to European defence and energy policy.
