M25 closure near Surrey sparks Gatwick Airport travel warning after serious collision

People travelling to Gatwick Airport were warned to expect delays, after a serious collision led to the closure of a stretch of the M25 in Surrey.

Investigations are continuing this morning after an 18-year-old died on the M25 near Chertsey.

Officers were called to reports of a multi vehicle collision on the anticlockwise stretch just before 11.50 on Monday night. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are underway to understand the circumstances leading up to the collision which closed the motorway for over 10 hours.
