He exemplified it with the Suez Canal, which has been used for two and a half years without being used as a maritime route.
Not only oil shipments are affected by the war with Iran and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Container shipping is also experiencing chaotic conditions. In total, more than 3,000 ships are affected. Shipping companies are trying to counteract the situation, including by imposing war surcharges.
