On the morning of the 17th, which was New Year's Day in the Lunar New Year, fishermen at Itoman Fishing Port in Itoman City, Okinawa Prefecture, hoisted large-catch flags on their fishing boats, praying for safe voyages and bountiful catches for the year. Of the approximately 30 boats anchored, about 10 had the flags flying. Some people tried to capture the flags fluttering under the cloudy sky on camera.
