Law and Justice MP Łukasz Mejza was stopped by police for nearly doubling the speed limit on the S3 expressway near Polkowice in Lower Silesia, RMF FM reported. The car driven by the MP was speeding at 200 km/h in a zone with a 120 km/h speed limit. A PiS spokesman said the incident will be reviewed by the party's ethics committee.
"I behaved in a way I should never have done, I should never have driven at that speed, and I would like to sincerely apologize for that," said MP Łukasz Mejza. In an interview with Polsat News, the PiS politician addressed his arrest by police for speeding. He explained that he declined the ticket because he was in a hurry to get to the airport.
