After years of internal squabbling, 50Plus is on the rise. The party has two seats in Parliament, and what's more, most of its eligible voters are now over fifty. Jan van Gorkum, born in 1941, seized the opportunity and became the party's lead candidate in Almelo. "I thought: I feel fit, so why not?" And as a former director of educational programs, he doesn't want to solely represent the interests of older people.
