MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, JUL 8 – John R. Nickens IV will lead Phoenix Children's with a focus on academic partnerships and culture, succeeding Robert L. Meyer after 23 years of leadership in pediatric healthcare.
- Phoenix Children’s announced on July 8, 2025, that John R. Nickens IV will become its President and CEO on October 1, 2025, succeeding Robert L. Meyer.
- After more than 23 years at the helm, Meyer is retiring following a tenure in which Phoenix Children’s expanded dramatically, evolving into a nationally acclaimed pediatric organization employing thousands and offering care across more than 70 specialized fields.
