The remains of U.S. Army Air Forces Pvt. Lowell C. Akers, 21, who was captured and died as a prisoner of war during World War II, will be interred Sept. 4 in Nevada City, California. Services and internment are being coordinated by Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
