NEW DELHI, INDIA, JUL 25 – Opposition MPs have disrupted Parliament for five days demanding a halt to Bihar's electoral roll revision, alleging risk of disenfranchisement and lack of transparency by the Election Commission.
- For the fifth consecutive day, the Monsoon session saw no business, with the Lok Sabha adjourned till 2 p.m. and the Rajya Sabha till noon.
- In recent days, opposition MPs including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi protested against the SIR in Bihar.
- During the morning session, Deputy Chairman Harivansh Singh adjourned the Rajya Sabha till noon after rejecting adjournment notices.
- Following the meeting, all-party talks resulted in an agreement for the Lok Sabha to function smoothly from Monday , and both Houses will resume business then.
- A major item on Monday's agenda will be the discussion on 'Operation Sindoor', and Home Minister Amit Shah is set to move a resolution extending President’s Rule in Manipur.
