National Night Out draws young and old to the Santa Cruz Wharf

A crowd of families and community members gathered near the end of the Santa Cruz Wharf on a warm Tuesday evening to check out new and classic police and fire vehicles, a unique doughnut-eating contest and grab a scoop of free ice cream being dished out by Santa Cruz Police Chief Bernie Escalante at this year's National Night Out, which was hosted for the first time on the wharf.
