Midway, Pace, and Avalon Fire Districts’ funding drastically changed when the bills written by Rep. Alex Andrade and sponsored by former senator Doug Broxson were passed.  The bill changed the way special fire districts are funded, leaving them unable to collect ad valorem taxes and instead legislated to collect fire tax assessment fees.
