- On Monday, Netflix Spain added three new Spanish originals to its slate, including a Miguel Ángel Blanco documentary, the miniseries Lobo, and a feature from Oriol Paulo.
- Driven by subscriber demand, Netflix has invested heavily in Spanish-language content in recent years, with Oriol Paulo, Alberto Marini, and Jon Sistiaga leading new projects from Spain.
- Inspired by a 19th-century case, Lobo follows Manuel Blanco Romasanta in rural Galicia, with Alberto Marini writing and directing, Juan Galiñanes co-writing, and Luis Tosar starring.
- The Miguel Ángel Blanco documentary, directed by Jon Sistiaga and Juanjo López and produced by The Tintirin Team, explores the two days after Blanco's 1997 abduction when millions mobilized, Netflix said Monday.
- Filming has just begun on Oriol Paulo's feature, which assembled a star cast including Eduard Fernández and Mario Casas, while Netflix promoted the slate at a Madrid presentation highlighting Rafa.
