Liverpool's initial €100m bid for RB Leipzig wonderkid rejected
On Thursday, Liverpool saw their £100m offer for Leipzig winger Yan Diomande rejected by the German club, though the 19-year-old remains a priority target.
Diomande is coming off a strong Bundesliga season with 12 goals and assists across 33 appearances while currently representing Ivory Coast at the World Cup.
Leipzig reportedly seeks more than the £100m package, with £120m mooted as a benchmark fee; Sky Sports Germany reports the rejected approach included approximately £78.1m plus £10m in add-ons.
Paris Saint-Germain remains a strong contender for the forward as Leipzig hopes for a bidding war, while Liverpool is exploring alternative targets should the deal prove difficult.
Leipzig hopes to renew Diomande's contract to retain him for another season; the winger faces Germany this weekend in the World Cup where he may encounter potential teammate Florian Wirtz.
