A Thaxton man was arrested and charged with taking merchandise from Home Depot in Oxford. The Oxford Police Department was notified of the theft on June 15 and, after reviewing evidence, arrested Joshua Tallant, 38, of Thaxton. Tallant allegedly stole items worth more than $1,700 from the store. He was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center. Cortlandville, N.Y. — A car salesman was accused Monday of embezzling more than $13,000 from the Cortland County dealership where he worked, troopers said.The salesman, Jason Allen, allegedly kept referral checks intended to go to customers for himself, according to a news release from Trooper Aga Tinker, a spokesperson for the State Police.
