Protests in Serbia continued on Wednesday, blocking streets and intersections in major cities, marked by police violence and numerous arrests overnight. The United Nations Human Rights Office also spoke out.
Civil disobedience continued as the blockades entered their fifth day. The streets of Belgrade and Niš were turbulent throughout the evening. Clashes between citizens, students and high school students and the police occurred on several occasions in Belgrade and Niš, resulting in a large number of arrests and the injury of one police officer.
Small groups of citizens continued to block individual intersections and streets in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš and some other cities in Serbia this evening.

Serbian university students are preparing for a nationwide blockade on Friday after dozens of protesters were arrested in a police crackdown. They plan to stop traffic at major intersections in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis during the eight-month-long protests.
