After the European Union (EU) lifted sanctions on two Russian oligarchs, Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman, Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys proposed on Wednesday to include them on the national list of foreigners denied entry to Lithuania.

"We urge all other EU members to follow the example of our Baltic friends," Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha posted on social media after Lithuania announced it would impose sanctions against Russian oligarchs Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman.
The country is beginning the process of preparing its own restrictive measures against Usmanov and Friedman once they have been removed from the EU sanctions list.

Lithuania will impose national sanctions on Russian billionaires Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman after the European Union agreed to remove them from its sanctions list, Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius said Tuesday.
After the European Union (EU) removed two Russian billionaires, Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman, from its sanctions list, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is proposing to include them on the list of foreigners who are prohibited from entering Lithuania.
