Paul McCartney Teams up with Ringo Starr on New Single
The song was built from a drum part Starr recorded and adds backing vocals from Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri.
- On Friday, Paul McCartney confirmed his first-ever duet with Beatle Ringo Starr on the track "Home to Us," which appears on his upcoming album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, due May 29.
- McCartney revealed the collaboration at a secret playback event at Abbey Road Studios on Tuesday, where the track evolved from an initial drum recording into a full duet after he asked Starr to sing more than just a few lines.
- "In writing the song I'm talking about where we came from," McCartney stated, reflecting their humble origins in Liverpool; backing vocals feature Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri.
- The accompanying video features a collage of 100 archive images of the Beatles set to an energetic Irish-jig electric hook, following their 2023 collaboration "Now and Then."
- Produced by Andrew Watt, The Boys of Dungeon Lane marks McCartney's 18th solo release and is framed as an autobiographical survey of his childhood, following the March lead single "Days We Left Behind.
