A Lincoln City man was found guilty earlier this month of raping and sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl who was working as a volunteer at two of his businesses.

"Not only did he abandon any acknowledgment of guilt, he went all the way in the opposite direction, citing one of the most ludicrous justifications I've heard," the prosecutor said.

Eliran Bakalo, 40, from Holon, volunteered as an ambulance driver. During his volunteering, the defendant sexually assaulted and threatened four minors who were volunteering at MDA, and raped two of the minors. The prosecution asked the court to detain the defendant until the end of the legal proceedings against him.

On May 1, 2025, 54-year old Daniel Stuebgen, was found guilty by a Lincoln County jury of five separate incidents of child sexual abuse perpetrated in 2023 on an twelve-year-old who was volunteering at Happy Trails Feed & Tack in Lincoln City and Green Acres Beach & Trail Rides in Pacific City, businesses owned by Stuebgen and his ex-wife.
