Lin-Manuel Miranda to Direct Movie Musical Version of 'Octet'
Dave Malloy is adapting the screenplay, and casting has not yet been announced for the film based on the internet-addiction musical.

- 5000 Broadway Productions announced Julie Oh is joining as head of film and television, producing the film alongside John Skidmore for Best Kept Secret Productions and Luis A. Miranda, Jr., president of the production company.
- Dave Malloy, who wrote the Tony-nominated musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, is adapting the book for the screen and serving as executive producer on the film.
- This project marks Miranda's second feature film directorial effort following his 2021 debut Tick, Tick... Boom!, though casting for the adaptation has not yet been announced.
