In a letter consulted by BFM Business and forwarded by the government to the sickness insurance advisory bodies, a decree no longer provides for doubling but indexing the annual ceilings for medical allowances and lump-sum contributions on inflation.
The government, which had planned to double the ceiling for medical allowances to 200 euros, will finally raise it to 140 euros. The insured will pay an average of 10 euros more per year, said the Ministry of Health to franceinfo on Monday.
On 20 August, the Minister of Health, Stephanie Rist, announced that the government would not double the amount, currently EUR 100. According to the executive, the new ceiling corresponds to the inclusion of inflation since 2005.
