Two restored statues of Tutankhamun's grandfather, Pharaoh Amenhotep III, were recently unveiled in Luxor. The alabaster statues symbolize his divine reign and were part of a once-powerful temple. Their restoration took more than 20 years.
The restoration lasted almost 20 years. Now two colossal statues of Amenophis III shine again in old splendour. With all the size, however, a detail is easily overlooked.
