Lightsaber Darth Vader used in duel in 'Empire Strikes Back' goes up for auction
The saber is expected to fetch at least $1 million as Heritage Auctions offers more than two dozen Star Wars props.
- Heritage Auctions will sell a Darth Vader lightsaber used in the Cloud City duel where he tells Skywalker "I am your father," headlining The Ultimate Star Wars Auction on Nov. 12.
- The Vader saber, also used in "Return of the Jedi," is expected to fetch at least $1 million, following a July auction where a lightsaber with Luke Skywalker's severed hand sold for $3.75 million.
- An EE-3 carbine blaster wielded by Boba Fett is estimated to bring in more than $100,000, among more than two dozen props including a Yoda puppet hand used by Frank Oz and Anthony Daniels' signed screenplay.
- Others include dueling lightsabers wielded by Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker in "Revenge of the Sith," expected to go for at least $10,000 apiece.
- The Ultimate Star Wars Auction spans Star Wars Episodes I through IX and other films from the galaxy George Lucas created, offering collectors artifacts across the entire film series.
