The supermarket said 100% of its own-brand block chocolate remains Fairtrade Certified as the range is removed from UK shelves.

  • Lidl has stopped selling its Fairtrade chocolate brand in its UK stores, effectively removing the items from shelves after six years on sale.
  • The chocolate bars, which launched in 2020, were priced at £2.69 each before the retailer decided to discontinue the range.
  • A Lidl spokesperson said the supermarket remains fully committed to "ethical and sustainable sourcing across our cocoa supply chains," noting "100% of our own-brand block chocolate continues to be Fairtrade Certified."
  • Although customers can no longer purchase the range in Lidl stores, the company confirmed the products remain available for purchase at other retail locations.
  • Lidl regularly reviews and updates product ranges to ensure customers receive the best selection of affordable, high-quality goods, the supermarket stated.
