Liberal Democrat MP Cameron Thomas arrested and suspended from party
The party also suspended his membership as police continue an investigation into his arrest, with no details made public.
Liberal Democrat MP Cameron Thomas was arrested by Gloucestershire Police on Wednesday night and suspended from the party pending the outcome of a police investigation.
Gloucestershire Police have released no details regarding the reasons for the arrest. A party spokesperson stated, 'We are unable to comment further while the police investigation is ongoing.'
Thomas previously ended a 23-year Royal Air Force career before becoming the MP for Tewkesbury, with service including deployments to Iraq, the Falklands, and Oman.
In March, Thomas traveled to Kyiv to deliver aid, resulting in his inclusion on a Russian stop list, which the MP said gave him 'the greatest possible endorsement' of his parliamentary activity.
Thomas previously criticized Elon Musk, alleging the billionaire's interest in the Southport riots was based on 'nostalgia for white supremacy,' adding scrutiny to his current parliamentary suspension.
