Former KMT legislator Lee Te-wei accused then-Minister of Health and Welfare Hsieh Jui-yuan and Centers for Disease Control Chou Chih-hao of embezzling high-level positions. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office closed the case due to insufficient evidence. Hsieh and Chou filed a lawsuit seeking damages. The first instance court ruled that Lee Te-wei must compensate each of them NT$600,000. The High Court today rejected both appeals.
