Lewiston seeks Ward 7 resident to fill School Committee vacancy

LEWISTON, ME – Lewiston Mayor Carl Sheline wants to hear from Ward 7 residents interested in and ready to fill a vacant seat on the Lewiston School Committee. The term serves through December 2026. Under the City Charter, the mayor nominates a resident of the ward to fill the vacancy, subject to confirmation by the City Council. Eligibility requirements: At least 20 years old A registered voter in Ward 7 since June 2023 How to apply: Application forms are available at www.lewistonmaine.gov/schoolward7 and at the Lewiston City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 27 Pine St., Second Floor. Completed applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office for review. Deadline: Wed., July 15 at 4 PM The School Committee sets policy direction for Lewiston Public Schools and plays a direct role in decisions affecting students, families, and staff across the district. Residents willing to take on that responsibility are encouraged to apply.
