Lewis County driver charged with BAC more than three times legal limit

Brouty, 23, of Lowville, was traveling southwest on Belfort Road in Croghan at about 12:43 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21 when his 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe went off the roadway and rolled onto its passenger side near a utility pole. Deputies said Brouty registered a blood alcohol content of 0.29% — more than three times the legal threshold of 0.08%.
