Letter: Today’s Republican leaders are taking wrong approach

I’m confused by some of Sen. Dave McCormick’s assessments regarding government spending. In a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed, he stated that Medicaid funding increased 51% from 2019 to 2024 while enrollment grew by roughly 13%. Yet he supported the Trump administration’s effort to curb this admittedly astronomical spending increase by cutting services and benefits to those enrolled.
