Letter: Sawchuk right about rail
The writer says revival would require permanent crews, maintenance facilities and negotiations with First Nations, while annual costs would exceed bus expansion.
In the last issue frequent contributor Joe Sawchuk insisted that the passenger railway will never return to Vancouver Island, raising several valid arguments to support his position. I was a little disappointed that Joe failed to include the enormous cost to restore the track to useable condition and then keep it that way.
