Letter: Police shouldn’t be punished when others act recklessly

“Family of boy fatally shot by police officer to get $3 million settlement” (Reading Eagle, June 27) represents everything that’s wrong with the American Dream. There should be no legal recourse against an officer when a 12-year-old has a gun illegally and shoots at an unmarked police car.
