The prize of the Leipzig Book Fair in the Bellestrik category goes to Katerina Poladjan in 2026 with "Goldstrand". Best non-fiction book is Marie-Janine Calic's "Balkan-Odyssee", best translation Manfred Gmeiner's "Unten leben".
For her novel "Goldstrand" author Katerina Poladjan travels to Bulgaria - to the holiday resort of her childhood, which has changed greatly through "turbocapitalism". For her "masterful" story about this experience, she now receives the prize of the Leipzig Book Fair.
Odessa, a Bulgarian Black Sea town and a director in Rome on the couch: Poladjan rushes through Europe – and got the coveted prize for it.
