LEGO Announces 8,278-Piece 'Lord of the Rings' Set
The collector-focused model is LEGO’s largest Lord of the Rings set yet and includes nine minifigures plus a bonus Ork gift with purchase.
On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Lego announced its 8,278-piece Minas Tirith set, a hybrid microscale and minifigure-scale model of the iconic Gondorian capital priced at $650.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Peter Jackson's The Fellowship of the Ring, the set surpasses previous Lord of the Rings releases like Rivendell, becoming the company's largest in the franchise.
The model stands nearly two feet tall and includes 10 minifigures such as Gandalf the White and Aragorn as King Elessar; builders can flip the structure to access detailed interior locations like the throne room.
Lego Insiders gain early access beginning June 1, with general availability starting June 4; customers ordering by June 6 receive a free set featuring Grond and two Mordor Orc minifigures.
This kit ranks as the fourth-largest Lego set ever produced, trailing only the Eiffel Tower, Titanic, and Death Star models in total piece count among Lord of the Rings releases.
