UNITED STATES, JUL 24 – An AP-NORC poll shows 64% of U.S. adults support legal abortion in most or all cases, reflecting stable majority opinion three years after Roe v. Wade was overturned.
- Earlier this month, the AP-NORC poll found 64% support legal abortion in most or all cases, while 12 states enforce full bans and four restrict after six weeks.
- Last year’s AP-NORC poll showed 7 in 10 U.S. adults support abortion access after the June 2022 Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
- Telehealth abortion prescriptions have increased national abortion numbers, while AP-NORC polling shows at least 8 in 10 adults back it for fetal abnormalities, health threats or rape/incest.
- AP-NORC polling shows nearly 9 in 10 Democrats and about 4 in 10 Republicans favor legal abortion in most cases, and just over half back safeguards for out-of-state patients and providers.
