Macedonian Parliament bans use of pyrotechnics indoors after fire in Kočani

Following a fire at a nightclub in Kočani, in which 59 mostly young concertgoers died on March 16, the Macedonian parliament banned the use of pyrotechnics indoors on Tuesday evening.

With 87 votes “for”, no “against” and no “abstentions”, the Assembly supported the bill amending and supplementing the Law on Offenses against Public Order and Peace, through a shortened procedure, proposed by the deputies of OBRM-PDUKM.
