Leeds New Star Wilson Reveals Reasons for Declining Other Offers Amid Ampadu Input
Wilson said Leeds’ earlier pursuit and a four-year deal helped seal the move after he scored 11 goals for Fulham last season.
Leeds United signed winger Harry Wilson on a four-year contract Wednesday, securing the 29-year-old on a free transfer after his deal with Fulham expired.
After failing to sign Wilson last summer, Leeds succeeded this year as the player cited the club's "initial pursuit, which came prior to all of last season" as influential.
Wilson scored 11 goals in 41 appearances last season for Fulham, while Wales teammate and Leeds skipper Ethan Ampadu pressured him to join the club this summer.
"It's really important to be at a club where you feel wanted," Wilson said, reflecting on his five-year tenure at Fulham building relationships with staff and players.
Manager Daniel Farke now prepares Leeds for the Premier League campaign, with the team opening its season against Nottingham Forest on August 22.
