'Hard to Watch': Car Slams Into Florida School Bus, Becomes Wedged Underneath

- BusPatrol equipped the district's fleet of over 600 buses with AI stop-arm cameras, sharing evidence with the Lee County Sheriff's Office to issue citations.
- The Lee County Sheriff's Office and San Carlos Park fire crews responded before 9 a.m. at Whispering Pine and US-41; the bus operator was taken to a local hospital and both drivers sustained minor injuries.
- Sheriff Carmine Marceno posted that he will increase Traffic Unit and 4th Precinct deputies patrols, saying `I can ensure our Traffic Unit and 4th Precinct deputies have increased patrols in this area and will not tolerate reckless driving of any kind.`
- Since BusPatrol's implementation, deputies say two drivers have already been cited at the same bus stop, highlighting early enforcement and the program’s safety purpose.
