Lebanon says one killed in Israeli strike on refugee camp
The strike targeted a Hamas command centre amid ongoing Israeli military actions in Lebanon despite a 2024 ceasefire, killing one and injuring several, state media said.
- On February 20, 2026, Lebanon reported an Israeli drone hit a neighbourhood of Ain al-Helweh camp near Sidon, killing one person, with the Israeli army saying it struck a Hamas command centre.
- A previous raid on Ain al-Helweh last November killed people, and the UN rights office reported child deaths in that strike, despite the ceasefire.
- Anadolu Agency said three missiles were used and other outlets reported artillery fire, Lebanon Debate posted footage of the aftermath, and Al Mayadeen said Israeli drones remained active, including one drone-bombing a man in his car.
