The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported that in a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, US envoy Thos Barak said that the US is interested in Syria's economic and political development. The envoy was also reported to have said in the meeting that communication between Israel and Syria will soon rise to a higher level, towards the end of the state of war between the two countries.
