Burger King Responds After Angry Customers Say Bizarre Promotion Was ‘Rigged’
Last week, Burger King released the LeNugguette, a miniature handbag retailing for $3.99 designed to celebrate new Chicken Nuggets, featuring one of four sauce-inspired charms and a voucher for a four-piece order.
The fast-food chain revamped its Chicken Nuggets and sauces last month, designing the bag as an exclusive accessory with only 100 bags available daily from Sept 12 through Sept 16.
Some customers claimed the online drop was "rigged" after their bags "magically disappeared" from carts during checkout, with one user noting it sold out immediately upon pressing check out.
A spokesperson for Burger King told USA Today that despite Wednesday's final drop, more chances to secure a bag are coming, stating the chain designed the exclusive item to celebrate its updated menu.
Founded in 1954, Burger King is the largest fast-food burger chain in the United States, operating more than 19,000 locations across more than 120 countries and territories.
