Lauri Karp: We Are Based on What the State Wants From the Oil Shale Industry Right Now

Lauri Karp, who heads Eesti Energia's oil shale industry liquid fuel and circular economy company Enefit Industry, justified the closure of the Narva quarry and the transfer of the Uus-Kiviõli mining fields by saying that the state, or the owner, is more likely to be guided by the wishes of the state, rather than possible future plans. It was therefore found that keeping the Estonia mine in operation was sufficient for the company's needs.
