In a speech broadcasted at the annual Firefighters' Congress, the Minister of the Interior assured that the so-called Civil Security Modernization Bill would contain "an article making explicit the means" devoted for the next five years.
A further EUR 1 billion over five years will be spent on strengthening the capacity of the departmental fire and rescue services (SDIS), promised on Friday the Minister of the Interior Laurent Nuñez. This effort will be financed by an "exceptional increase" of the tax on insurance agreements.
