Laurel residents encouraged to avoid drinking city water

The City of Laurel was notified by the State of Nebraska that the Nitrate concentration in Well 2009-1 has exceeded the recommended level of 10 mg/L. A sample taken from Well 2009-1 on July 21 measured at a concentration of 11 milligrams per liter. Adults and children older than six months can drink the tap water.
